In April of 2000, Geocell Systems Inc. conducted full scale testing of the Rapid Deployment Flood Wall under a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
A section of RDFW was assembled in the wave tank at the Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), Waterways Experiment Station (WES) in Vicksburg, Mississippi. This section of wall was exposed to both standing water and pounding wave action. Standing water test duration was 128 hours, with water heights between 24 and 40 inches. Wave testing lasted 40 hours, with wave heights up to 1.52 feet. The RDFW performed phenomenally, resisting over 72,000 wave cycles with minimal deformation and and underseepage.
